Submission Guidelines

Home

Nodin Press publishes general interest books, primarily about Minnesota or by Minnesota writers. It also publishes several books of poetry a year.

If you wish to submit a prose manuscript that falls within these areas of interest, please send a copy of the work or a few sample chapters along with a synopsis. Include your name, address, email address, and phone number on the manuscript. (Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you wish files to be returned.)

To submit a collection of your poems for consideration, prepare a complete manuscript of between 50 and 80 typed, single-spaced, and numbered pages, one poem per page, with a working title, table of contents, and proposed order of poems. Include your name, address, email address, and phone number on the manuscript. Avoid including both poetry and prose pieces in one manuscript unless there is a compelling reason to do so.

As part of your submission, include:

  • Cover letter addressed to Norton Stillman, publisher, which may be read by other manuscript reviewers
  • Resume or brief biography emphasizing your literary accomplishments
  • List of credits and/or previous publications
  • Self-addressed envelope with adequate postage for a response and/or return of your manuscript

Though Nodin Press will often suggest changes to a manuscript before offering a contract, your work should be well-edited and proofed prior to submission.

Because we are a streamlined organization, we cannot always provide editorial feedback on declined manuscripts.
