How has the summer been? Lots of trees went down in the wind. This may be our mild northern version of hurricane weather. I don't know.

I completed a travel book this summer dealing with a few of Minnesota's interesting landscapes and historic sites. That took some time. Following a visit to the Science Museum, I've been thinking about the last days of Pompeii. The State Fair was fun, and so was a quiet week at the lake, interrupted by a midweek foray to Madeline Island. Inside you'll find reviews of a few jazz shows and summer films that will probably be forgotten during the fall season of serious dramas. And I've also been reminiscing about what it means to work in a book warehouse.
