| Nodin Press publishes general interest books, primarily about Minnesota or by Minnesota writers. It also publishes between two and four beautiful poetry books a year. Please read a sampling of our recent poetry books prior to submitting a manuscript. To submit a collection of your poems for consideration, prepare a complete manuscript of between 50 and 80 typed, single-spaced, and numbered pages, one poem per page, with a working title, table of contents, and proposed order of poems. Include your name, address, email address, and phone number on the manuscript. Avoid including both poetry and prose pieces in one manuscript unless there is a very compelling reason to do so. As part of your submission, include:
Send one strong, cohesive, well-edited and proofread manuscript. Most often, such a work will be the result of the poet working with colleagues or mentors prior to submission to hone the manuscript in terms of both individual poems and the collection as a whole. Minnesota has many outstanding poets who provide manuscript review services. Although Nodin Press may suggest changes in the manuscript prior to offering a contract, in general we are drawn to manuscripts that are already perfected and ready for publication. Because we are a streamlined organization, generally we cannot provide feedback on declined manuscripts. Our goal is to respond to any submission of poetry within four months. |
